You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change.

Thank You

I looked around at my dinner table and revisited a memory. A time when all of my family sat  together alive and well, breaking bread and sharing compassion, and loving one another  with unconditional respect for each other…

Mom. I wish you could meet my new friends!

Knock Knock…

 “Who’s there?”

Nobody!

“Nobody who?”

The Greatest Gift..

No, we’re not talking about butterflies, fields of flowers, or starry, romantic nights. Those things are nice, but real love is shown through action, not feelings. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

When I was 4

Posted in Me on November 14, 2012 by BLAKBIZ

When I was 4 years old, my parents gave me an easel for a Christmas present, which turned out to be my corner stone and sanctuary. Throughout my childhood years I spent hours drawing and sketching, and my love for art increased immensely. I used to sketch my favorite cartoon characters and scale the pictures onto 3’x5’ canvas to paint with oil. My parents were so proud; they hung these paintings up throughout the house. By the time I reached elementary school I was acquainted with oils and water colors. I had other hobbies as well such as working with my hands putting things together like models or fixing things around the house. My educational experience initially began in middle school when My art instructor would come to my home on weekends and after school asking my parents if they could take me to art shows, museums, and exhibits of all sorts. As time went on I took what my high school called Industrial Art as a concentration major. The course of study consisted of ceramics, wood shop, metal shop, painting, and blue printing, giving me a variety of avenues to pursue. After high school I immediately enrolled in college and studied Machine Technology; which opened a door for a career as an industrial laborer (CNC set-up man and operator). I worked at a major machine shop programming and operating computerized numerical machinery to make aerospace equipment and parts at very tight/close tolerances (Milacron). Working in this shop I began to pay great attention to detail, which assisted in my maturing as a painter. I also became more interested in Photoshop and graphic design. Since then I have graduated from a community college with an Associates Degree in Fine Arts & Design then transferred to a 4 year undergraduate college where I acquired a Bachelors of Science Degree in Human Services. I am currently enrolled in graduate school pursuing a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work.

Meticulous Mind

I want you to look into a mirror without trying to break it.

How often does it remind us of a distorted reflection that we all seem compelled to mask.

Tell me what do you see?

Would you sacrifice your eyes to look upon the work of a mad man?
